Motion Path - have element follow a curved line

Charmaine Anderson 4 years ago in By Screen / Design • updated by Annisa Nanda 6 months ago 5

I would like to be able to draw a line and have an animated element follow the drawn path, the path would not be visible in interact mode but act as a guide for the object to follow.  For example, the object would fly into place on load and then on tap it could go to the next point that has been designated on the path for the element to follow on tap.  This would be a curved line rather than a linear line.  If there is another way to do this, please advise. Thanks.

Answer

We are absolutely planning to add this feature in a near future version (probably late summer).

image and audio cleanup

Ranco 4 years ago • updated by Ezra Weinstein (Administrator) 4 years ago 1

Could be a good idea, just like clean cache, to have a button that scans the resources in the books folder and delete whatever is not used. The folders are getting larger and larger whenever one deletes an animation or a bitmap and loads it again. It all duplicates and there's no way to delete the duplicated items. Even if I delete them manually I still see them in the lists of images/audio files I can use, which is confusing.

Answer

In version 3.2 during the Share and Publish process we actually cleanup the final output so only the elements used in the app are in the app that is shared and/or distributed.

Elements order toolbar

Ranco 5 years ago in By Screen / Design • updated by Ezra Weinstein (Administrator) 4 years ago 0

It would be great if the 4 buttons of elements order (bring to front, back, up, down) will be accessible all the time without the need to open this toolbar every time I want to change order. I find that I use those a lot, and as such, they need to be available all the time.

Answer

We made the menu bar persist on the screen so you can keep visible at all times.

Interactive animation

Moshe Caine 4 years ago in By Screen / Interact • updated by Ezra Weinstein (Administrator) 4 years ago 0

Animations in InteractBuilder are created by a sequence of image files. These are triggered by an interaction such as tap. Once triggered, the animation activates all images in the sequence at the predetermined rate.

An interactive animation, on the other hand would be activated by dragging. as the finger drags from left to right the animation progresses. When the dragging stops, so does the animation. Dragging from right to left will run the animation in reverse order.

This is analogous to the "image sequence" function in the Adobe DPS, or a VR object.

user guide quick button

Melissa Lind 5 years ago in By Screen / Design • updated by Ezra Weinstein (Administrator) 4 years ago 4

Just something to think about, but I would love to have a quick button for both the user guide and to empty the cache. I'm finding that I use them both often, and I lose my train of thought when I go looking for them.

Just an idea.

Thanks!

Answer

Good suggestions, only challenge is that we are trying to keep the screen real estate pretty clean.   We will definitely consider this suggestion.

We will be adding a small icon on the bottom of the design screen in version 3.3, due for release later this month.

background music

mark 4 years ago • updated by Inna Komarovsky (Administrator) 3 years ago 6

Is there a way to add background music that keeps playing when you turn the pages? If I want to have a song play from page 3 to 12 for example.

Answer
This feature is now available in the Page Properties. Under a page's audio settings, you can specify that the page audio should be continuous.

Trouble viewing app in Interact mode in IB4

Gabrielle Strouse 3 years ago in By Screen / Interact • updated by Ezra Weinstein (Administrator) 3 years ago 21
I have searched the forum, and haven't found anyone explaining the step I seem to be missing.  I click "Interact" in V4 and choose "all" and I see the status bar go to 100% and interactplayer.com comes up in my web browser.  I log in, and I see the cover photo for my app.  I click it, and nothing happens.  None of the actions in the dropdown menu seem to lead me toward the preview.  What do I do to actually preview the app?  I have tried in Chrome and IE.

Updated to the Bug category after comparing with another one of my apps.  The other one gives me a solid black screen when I click on its icon on interactplayer.com.

So I can view neither app.  Please advise!

Manage action sets request - auto select first target

Ranco 4 years ago in By Screen / Design • updated by Ezra Weinstein (Administrator) 4 years ago 3

Can you please automatically select the first target in the "manage action sets" dialog when one clicks on a new action set (or uses the up/down arrows)?

It is more user friendly that way. You can navigate the cations and immediately see the animation parameters of the (first) target, which is usually the main.

thanks,

Ranco

Make Disable Page Flip Backwards/Forwards a global Navigation setting

Charmaine Anderson 4 years ago in By Screen / Design • updated by Ezra Weinstein (Administrator) 4 years ago 0

Please consider adding the Disable Page Flip Backwards / Forwards option to a global Navigation setting,  instead of only at the page level.  I have 85 pages and I don't want to have to do this to every single page!  The reason I want to do this is I want to kick people to a main menu at the end of each section rather then force them to click through all 85 pages.

Thank you!
