Is there anyway to speed up the processing speed with Interact Builder? It works quick on the first couple pages, but with every page it gets slower and slower, when I start to get to the back of the book (page 10 or 11), it's so slow that I watch a movie at the same time so that I don't lose my motivation to keep working on it.
I have no idea what that involves and it's probably a long term issue, but it would be such a boon for user experience if you could eliminate the down time.
The processing speed depends on how many elements you have on your current working page and also on how your CPU is used.So if you have opened for example another 5 processes and you work on a page with let's say 40 elements, InteractBuilder will act slower. [ALIN]
What Alin mentioned above is very true. We are working on this very issue for version 3.4 and hopefully you will find the application performing better. Once 3.4 is out we would like to hear from you again to see if you are still experiencing any speed issues.
I know IB3 is not a design tool. Nevertheless it would be very helpful to have some very basic graphic entry tools: Line, circle, rectangle, color fill, etc.
By that I mean, that the app itself is free in the app-store, but provides extra content inside, that the user can purchase. It could be one free book, and 3 others that the user can buy, or perhaps small games, or even items that can be used in a game.
It's a very used concept, and for good reason.
It's hard to make people decide to buy an app they know nothing about, but it will be easier to sell them something inside an app, when they already know the app, and the quality of it.
It would be awesome if IB3 builder users could customize the IB3 builder UI based on our own global preferences. Such as allow us to decide which panels we prefer to load initially or use most.
Also it would be nice to set project wide preferences on fonts, size and colors and also define Headline title body content size, etc (such as a style sheet).
Another idea is to consider offering pre-built templates one can use for each project type that only requires a wee bit of customization.
Thanks for considering.
Planned for version 3.5. Version 3.3 will actually offer the ability to import pages from one app to the other which is similar to what your idea for templates. Version 3.5 should be released towards the end of this year or early next year. Version 3.3 will be released by the end of the month.
I want to be able to click the visible part of an element that is behind another semi-transparent element.
For example in this screenshot, the girl is behind a wave. I can only click on the very top of her exposed head, whereas I expect to be able to click her entire visible body:
I know is is per-pixel tap test, but still...
If there's a way around that - please advise
The best way to handle this is to add a transparent element in front of the image of the girl and add your action set to that element. This is not a bug because transparent elements can have action sets and the transparent part of an element needs to be clickable.
Yes, when you're ready to publish your app, you will have the option of publishing it through your own developer account or through the InteractBooks account. When you test the app and share it with others, it is not yet in the app marketplaces, so it is not published through anyone's account technically, but when you want to publish the app, this is when you would use a developer account.
Let me know if this answers your question : )
It would be nice if you could see all of the elements in your library via a scrollable slider and be able to select the desired element or entire frames of an animation and drag and drop the one you want to use into your page. Sometimes one wants to reuse assets and if you have several hundred elements its easy to forget where you used the one you want to copy and reuse. Thanks for considering.
I realize one would probably loose a lot of the interactivity and animation, but if it retained the static images, text and audio that would be rather cool.
Thanks for considering.
Should be available in version 3.5. It will be a premium member feature.
