Clearing cache in IB 4

How do I clear the cache in IB4?  I have deleted elements and shapes from my app and they are still showing in InteractPlayer

The cache is no longer used in IB4, so no need to worry about it :).

I am creating an activity page at the end of my book and I would like the children to be able to fill out an activity sheet- Type words into blank spaces. Can you do this in the builder?
They are being asked to write a verse for my book. The following page I am getting them to draw their illustration for their verse- (this you can do I think already in interactbuilder).
This would be great if it could be possible if not now but in the future development of your program. I am wanting to build books so that they can be used as teaching resource in the classroom.

Yes Cathy, you can do  this by using an empty Text element with SetText behavior on the text element as in the attached example:

Ok guys, got the new 3.4 builder.  Re-installed twice to make sure it was covered.  Besides all the completely different results I am getting in all of my pages with actions and tapping and far too many things to name right now!  I will have to go through each page and work out how to redo most of my interactions!

I am having a strange problem that needs to be fixed first.  On certain pages, not all, when I go to interact mode, the page runs, but I cannot click on anything.  And I mean anything in the Builder, nothing responds, can't go back to Design, can't go anywhere, not even close the builder down.  I have to go into the Task Manager and close the builder that way.

I can send you a page that's giving me trouble, and maybe you can see what's going on.

Thank you for the sample app Clint , we were able to recreate this problem and we are working on a fix for this bug.

Just wanted to say congrats on a great upgrade, noticed a definite improvement on performance (speed) in Interact mode and I'm no longer getting an error message when jumping to other pages.  My Actions seem to be sticking now too!  Yeah!

IB4, Internet and version 3 apps

ok so I open an app created in version 3.  It says that it needs to be updated and the speed could vary based on Internet connection.  WHen I click Continue, it says that it is synching (an app with this name was uploaded previously before version 4).  Once the app opens, I click Interact, and it just hangs at the Loading page.

i close IB, reopen, and try to open a different version 3 app.  It says:  An error occurred while accessing the database.

Following the instructions in the error message, I have emailed the error detail to support.  Thanks.

Hi Jen, sorry for this mess.  All you need to do to fix this latest issue is to go into the App Folder and delete a file called InteractApp.rdb.  You will see this file is zero bytes, the last update created it.  Once you delete the file your app will convert successfully and you should be all set.  I am working late tonight so let me know if you need any additional help.

IB 4.0 | Defects - Existing Application

Hi,

I upgraded my app with IB 4.0 and while verifying found quite a few defects (around 12).
The app has already been downloaded more than 10,000 times so I do not want to publish an update on iTunes/Google Play until these are fixed. I cannot create a feedback ticket or send screenshots and steps to reproduce for each one, so is there a way I can do screen share with someone from DEV/Support?

Hi Adeel, wait till the 4.0.2 update comes out later today and then reconvert your apps. Most or all issues should be resolved.  To convert again you will have to delete the file interactapp.rdb and the folder called "Player" from the app folder.

Unable to sync with server with "Copy of ..."

I made a copy of a rather complicated app as a back up - so the copy was named "Copy of xx". The copy will not sync with the server, it gets stuck about 1/3 through. The original app continues to sync fine. I have tried this many times, making 'Copy of" and even renaming the copy but the problem persists.

Something in the app must be making it get stuck.  Only thing I can think of is for you to send us your app folder and we can diagnose it.

Question about Pen Names

Your Terms of Service mentioned users keeping their account details complete and accurate--and I wonder how this applies to the use of Pen Names?? I prefer to write under my digital persona rather than my legal name, which I try to keep as private as possible. Are users permitted to use a fictitious or alternate name on their profile and published ebooks produced with InteractBuilder?

Sure, you're welcome to use a pen name. As long as your contact information reflects information that we can use to reach you if needed and so that you can use your account to test or publish your app, you're all set.
